Joseph arrives at his boss, Vicky’s summons, sweat beading on his forehead. Her stern expression, stark against her otherwise striking features, signals trouble ahead.
“You’re failing, Joseph! Your job’s on the line!” she snaps, her voice sharp. “Unless…”
Desperate, Joseph pleads with Vicky. He needs this job—needs the money—and he’ll do anything the keep it. Vicky arches an eyebrow, a glint of amusement in her eyes. She puts him to the test, which he passes with surprising success. Despite his apparent incompetence, he might have a place at the company after all—as her personal footrest during her grueling office hours.
Vicky dismisses Joseph, instructing him to return the next morning to begin his new role as her footstool. Eager to prove himself, he arrives early, before anyone else.
But disaster strikes when Joseph, in his zeal, touches something forbidden. Now, instead of fighting for his job, he’s battling for his life against the thunderous, earth-shaking steps of his now-colossal boss.
And against his own dark secrets.
